  • Quality is pivotal at Mack Engineering. As a manufacturer of high tolerance precision components, we are passionate about quality. Our passion for providing superior products has been recognized by many of our major commercial customers. At Mack Engineering we understand that achieving superior quality is a team effort. We reach our goals through constant communication, training and dedication at all levels of our organization. We value problem prevention not detection.

    Mack Engineering offers several advantages:

    ISO 9001:2008 Registration

ISO 9001-2008 registered since 2003, Mack Engineering is dedicated to continuous, business-wide improvement and not only meets customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements, but has incorporated PPAP elements into internal process plans,- ensuring that our customer’s parts achieve the highest quality standards.

    Dock-to-stock quality system

From certifying raw materials to completing a final inspection before shipping, we check the quality of every project throughout the entire manufacturing process. We supplement ongoing QA with random sample checks for all parts, ensuring that no errors slip through unnoticed. And because we thoroughly document our QA results, you can receive a shipment at the dock and put it right into stockroom. You won’t have to check it internally, because we’ve done it for you.

    Proactive service and support

We’ve always prided ourselves on proactive service and support to save our clients’ time and money. That’s why our first step for every project is to create a comprehensive process plan and failure analysis. By thinking through every step of your project before we even start the machines, we can address any potential issues and prevent problems before they occur.

    State-of-the-art equipment

We have more than 20 machines with support equipment in our large, clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility in south Minneapolis. All are highly repeatable, and most are less than three years old, making them fast, consistent and easy to maintain. Our equipment is computer numerically controlled (CNC), and every machine has standardized, easily replaceable and fully adjustable components. Last but not least is our cleaning and packaging equipment, with it, we can surpass standards of cleanliness for use in medical, hydraulic and critical environments.

Network of certified suppliers, vendors and specialists

At Mack Engineering, we have long-standing relations with local suppliers, vendors and specialists.  Because we’ve certified these resources, you can be assured that the parts you need will be manufactured to the highest standard and ready for use when we deliver them.

    Change Management

Change is good when its done right.

    • Thorough ECO process insures we are working to the correct revisions
    • Review of potential effects and customer notification (when required) prior to implementing process changes
    • Management level review of all system level changes

    Continuous Improvement

There is always room for growth.

    • Implementation of lean principals
    • Ongoing refinement of procedures and processes
    • Improvements are driven from all levels of the company

    Documentation

      PPAP

We meet customer Production Part Approval Process requirements not just as a paperwork exercise but because we see the value in the tools. PPAP sections are regularly completed even without requirement from the customer.

    • PSW
    • Process Map
    • Control Plan
    • PFMEA
    • Process Capability studies
    • Gage R & R studies
    • ISIR

    Certification

Certifications are available per customers requirements.

    • Raw materials
    • Plating and Anodizing
    • Passivation
    • Dimensional
    • Heat treat
    • Mag particle

    Prevention

The best way to deliver 100% good parts is to avoid making bad ones to begin with. To that end the following programs have been implemented.

    • Tool life management
    • Employee training program
    • Vendor certification program
    • Robust process design
    • Mistake proofing

    Detection

Finding an out-of-control process is the first step.

    • Extensive calibrated gage library with many advanced inspection devices
    • Setup verification process
    • Comprehensive in-process inspection with statistical methodology where appropriate
    • C=0 sampling of all lots prior to shipment means that if we find an out of spec part the process stops there
    • Verification of all outside services

    Non-conformance

      Learn from your mistakes.

    • Comprehensive non-conformance system
    • Analysis to system level causes as a driver for continuous improvement
    • Management review of customer non-conformances to insure complete resolution

    Traceability and Containment

If an issue does arise our traceability and containment methods insure that it has a minimal impact on the supply chain.

    • Sophisticated tracking of parts
    • In-process isolation system
    • Ability to put shipment on hold electronically
